Back to Minneapolis

Ty, Erika, and Peter are trucking down to Minneapolis right now (4PM). They found out this morning that Peter did (or does) have an infection in his blood. Infection is common, since he has sores in his mouth and his blood defenses are low. I suppose that puts the bacteria on the power play. They took more blood for testing this morning and we’ll find out tomorrow if the infection is gone. Peter has been on antibiotics since they checked into the hospital yesterday.

The doctors are still optimistic that they can complete the cell harvest this week. When Peter gets checked in this afternoon, they’ll up his dose of the growth factor as scheduled. And as long as the infection has been successfully killed off, the harvest should take place later this week.

  1. Peter,

WOW what a win for the TWINS. Carolyn got to go to the game so she was pretty excited when she got home. We all cheering for you this week just like we cheered for the TWINS so I hope all goes well for you this week at the hospital!!! Fight that bacteria.

Carolyn and I were looking forward to trying to beat you in hockey on Saturday so it’s too bad we couldn’t come over. We’ll have to take a rain check and try again when your back home.

We’re thinking of you Peter. Take care and GO TWINS!

    Love,

    Pam Sandelin

  2. Peter, It was nice to see your smiling face tonight. I needed that to raise my spirits. I am sorry that I didn’t get a chance to see the “Joe Mauer” sideburns that you drew on your face this morning. Mom said they were very impressive. I’m sure Joe would have been proud of you. Too bad you had to wash them off.

Sleep tight little buddy. I’ll see you tomorrow.

  3. Hey Pete

Keep checking on you every day. Just hoping and praying you continue the courageous battle. Scouting staffs find themselves rating skills and qualities such as skating, puck skills, intensity, toughness, hockey sense with an without a puck, shot, etc. Grading out high doesn’t guarantee success. Focusing in with composure, confidence and competitiveness can over come any obstacle and give you an attitude and a swagger to beat this thing. Thinking of you every day, Pete.

  4. Peter: Hope you are doing better today and your infection is gone. Bet you will be glad to get those “yucky” sores out of your mouth. You be sure to try and eat and drink as much as you can and that will help you so much.
Keep fighting this and with everyones prayers that are on your team your fight will pay off.
Tell Mom and Dad we are thinking of them and send all of you our love.

  5. Hi Peter and all—- Looks like the road has been bumpy, but not too many pot holes. I just admire how you all stay so calm and sane and Peter just seems to go with the flow. Feel so much better about what I have been reading and your chance to go home I am sure helped. Missed you at the fund raiser, but heard we had two “dude’s” who kind of stood in for us. So you are still in our thoughts and hope things keep going so well. MJ

  6. Pete-man,
