Haircut. Almost.

The morning report from Auntie G was that the old Peter was back. He was laughing and joking like normal. He runs out of gas pretty quickly, though.

This afternoon Peter received a blood transfusion, because his red cells were low and needed to be increased before the treatment begins tomorrow. It wasn’t traumatic in any way.

Tonight Ty began giving Peter a haircut with the brand new clippers that Auntie Meeses brought to the hospital. He made it about half way around Peter’s head before the clipper died. Apparently this particular clipper needs to be charged for 12 hours before use. So Peter just fell asleep with a real rock-and-roll hairdo.

  5. HI Peter, Erika and Ty!

We just wanted to tell you something funny that Brooke said tonight. Every night during prayers we say a special prayer for Peter and Brooke likes to say “God, please help the doctors find the perfect medicine to help make Peter all better” well tonight she decided that the perfect medicine would be Fruit Punch medicine because it tastes so good! (She has had to take Fruit Punch Robitussin for the last couple of days!) So, Dr. Brooke recommends Fruit Punch medicine!

On a more serious note you are in our thoughts and prayers everyday and hope that your new journey tomorrow goes as smooth as possible. Keep strong Peter! We know you will fight this!

Love, Greg, Brenda Brooke & Ty

  6. Peter,
When my son was in the hospital just like you-he played hockey in the hallways. If you bring each nurse a hockey stick, put your socks on and a street hockey puck, you can have one heck of a hockey game right outside your room! Make sure you have a good pole man to follow you. Add a few flash lights for the goal lights and the we will rock you song for some celebratory tunes! Take care buddy and score big!

  7. Hi Peter and Family!

You may not remember me Peter, but I was your swimming teacher for a couple of sessions at the YMCA. It was a long time ago when you were two, going on three years old. I can’t wait to see you back swimming again! You’ve got a lot of people pulling for you and you’re in my prayers every day. Get better soon!

  8. Hi Peter!
I am so happy that I got to come up and see you tonight. You are a very special little boy and a lot of people are in the stands cheering you on to get better fast. I am especially cheering you on that you beat dad in your toss across game!!! Next time I come up to see you we’ll have a toss across tournment! Sound like fun?? I think so, I can’t wait! You keep eating your tator tots and dinosaur nuggets and drink a lot of water or juice so you continue to get stronger so you can throw that bean bag and get an X!! I am always thinking about you and praying that you get better real soon.
    Love,
    Lu

  9. Dear Ty, Erika and Peter:
The Day is not complete until Jessica Jacob & I sit down and read your website. Each and every picture is so amazing. Jacob (4) often makes me tell him a story of what is happening in each picture. I have to admit, I’m pretty creative. The one of Peter wearing your shoes Erika, was a real fun one.

The entire Brainerd Lakes Community is praying for you and your whole family.
May God continue to watch over and bless Peter Today and Always!!

    Love,
    Colleen, Jessica & Jacob Faacks

  10. Peter,
We had a lot of excitment here tonight. Sarah brought home a new puppy. He is so tiny and cute!! He won’t get very big – I think he would fit in my purse. She said she will take a picture and email it to your Uncle Matt so you can see him.
We wish we could see your ‘cool’ haircut – maybe you should leave it the way it is and start new hockey do’s.
Everyone here is saying extra prayers tonight so when you take your medicine it will be super powered!!!
Thinking of you and your mom, dad and sisters with lots of love and prayers every minute of every day.
Treat each other to lots of hugs and kisses every day.
    Night bud –
    joni

  11. Ty, Erika and Pete,
We just wanted to say good night and wish you the best for tomorrow. We love you all very much and we’ll continue saying our prayers.

    Love,
Uncle Troy, Auntie Macer, Grace, Lily & Murphey

  12. Peter John, It was fun reading books to you today. My favorite was the hockey book from Carl, Jake, Mike, Ryan and Pete. It’s cool to see your name printed right there in the story.
Keep eating your pudding and yogurt, otherwise I’ll have to send for some of those slimmy fish that the sealions were eating on TV today. That baby Sealion weighed 2000 pounds!!!!!!!
I’ll see you tomorrow – the day that you start to show the bad guys whose boss. Those bad guys do not want to be on the receiving end of one of your mighty checks. Once they have been hit by you they will never be able to get back up!!!!!!!!

Ty, As a Mother I have watched you grow from a beautiful fat red-haired baby boy to a skinny charming little guy, to an athletic kind teen-ager, to a quality hard working college kid, to a persistant polished young adult, to a caring loving husband and quality coach, to an outstanding father. Each step of the way I have been sincerely proud of you but never as proud as I have been these last ten days. You are everything I would want you to be – strong enough to bear the burden but not ashamed to cry as your heart breaks. You make me proud to be your Mother.
Erika, I never doubted that you were the perfect lifelong mate for Ty. You are so right for him. Your patience with his addiction to ESPN is admirable, especially when he watches the same thing the second time around. You have always supported his love for hockey and have made many sacrifices during those winter months as you drag three kids to various arenas to support the Warriors. Thank you for being my son’s true love.
Trent, Melissa, Troy and Michelle, You are what family is all about. Love ya Mom

  13. Ty, Erika and Peter,
We are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. I can’t even begin to imagine what you have been going through this past week. Everyday we read your website to see how you are doing and to see all the cute pictures of Peter. He is such a cutie!! I know Kullan would love to play hockey with you some day!!

    God bless you!
Dan, Lori, Kullan and Makenna Daikawa

  14. All I can say is Gramma Mary – you made me CRY! I agree with you though… Ty and Erika are fascinating people….. and you just proved that you are one special mother and grandmother!
    Jenni – Pete’s daycare momy

  15. To the Eigner family,

I am a friend of Peter’s grandmother, Barb – I played golf with her for several years at Brackett’s Crossing. I just wanted to tell you that we have a big group of women at Brackett’s thinking about you and hoping and praying for the best! We know that you have a tough fight ahead of you, but from what we’ve heard, Peter is a very strong and determined little boy, so that will work in his favor. We will continue to read the updates and look forward to hearing about Peter’s progress.

    Best wishes, Elaine Barr

  16. Peter, you don’t know me but just know you have people thinking of you all the time and wish you a speedy recovery.

By the likes of the previous emails, you have a wonderful family and loved ones with you every step of the way.

    You take care,
    Tim

  17. Hi Peter and family- We are old friends of your Uncle Matt’s and BJ grew up just down the street from your mom and Matt. We heard through the grapevine that you were going through some tough stuff and we wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you and rooting for your speedy recovery! We have 2 little boys of our own and we think of them when we read about you and how brave you are! Hang in there and know that we are praying for you.

All the best, Bryan (BJ), Tonia, Nathan & Henry Johnson
