Trend Continues

The upward trend continues. The vent oxygen levels have been reduced again and his blood oxygen is good.

Peter has been on a paralytic drug to keep him from trying to remove his breathing or feeding tubes and keep him from fighting the mechanical breaths. Today they stopped that drug for a bit, letting it wear off in order to get a sense for his capabilities and to see if he’s neurologically all right. As the drug wore off, he wiggled some toes and lifted an arm. The nurse asked him to squeeze his left hand and he did. Then he squeezed his right hand on request. I can only imagine how wonderful it was to see this simple interaction.

I often think of a phrase you have on one of your tshirts that you wore to daycare this summer…. it read, “SMALL BUT MIGHTY!” If that isn’t the truth…. 🙂

  11. This comment is not for Peter or his parents but for all of you who are standing with Peter (and our whole family) in prayer. We believe in the power of prayer, and we believe in miracles. You are a huge part of the miracle of healing that Peter is experiencing, and for that we thank you all. We are very aware of the thousands of petitions that are being made on Peter’s behalf around the clock and from around the world. Erika and Ty read every one of your comments and find great support in them. We are simply blown away by the amount of love, empathy and concern that you’ve shown. Having just returned from NY, I can tell you that you are making a difference. God can do the impossible. We have only to ask. Please keep asking. Grandma Barb.

  12. Thank you, Matt, for keeping us informed. Andy and I are constantly checking on Peter’s progress. We’re so happy to hear things are headed in the right direction…we’ll keep on praying- thinking of you all.

I have been reading the updates on your little Peter every day. While I only know of you through a business relationship with Erika, you have no idea how often my family thinks and prays for all of you.

By the sound of things, you have such a wonderful extended family. Just know that beyond that family, there are countless folks (some you know well, and some like me that you don’t) that are pulling for you.
