Low Counts, High Energy

Peter is still in the hospital, but he hasn’t been acting very sick as of late. The report from Tuesday night was that he was being a four-year-old, meaning that being in a small hospital room with him for hours on end might make one ready for a massage and some aromatherapy (gift idea for Erika?). Of course the fact that he’s been energetic — or rambunctious — is great news.

In other good news, the blood cultures came back negative; He doesn’t have an infection and that’s one less thing to worry about. Yet his counts remain low and that keeps him and his parents bound to hospital life. Let’s hope they are released today (Thursday) with Peter’s body in full recovery after the punishment of round 6.

  1. Hmmm… I am slightly confused! 🙂 Although, that doesn’t take much these days! When your daddy picked Kate & Ellie up yesterday(Wednesday), he said that you were home already!??
I am hoping that you are indeed home and that as your counts continue to rise – your energy remains boundless. That is a sign of a true champ! One day soon, all this hospitalization will be a distant, yet never forgotten, memory! We can’t wait till the day when you are making memories at the rink, at school, with your friends, outside, on the lake & on the ball field… instead of making “hospital memories.” Keep smiling Peter. Your infectious smile is a sure sign of a winner!
We miss you, love you and will always continue to pray for you!
    Love, Jenni and family

P.S. I am holding Parker on my lap and he is babbling over and over again…. “Pa, Pa, Pa, Pa, Pa”….. I am getting really good at this baby talk, and I am almost certain that he is saying, “Peter.” 🙂
