Round 6 Recovery

No news is definitely good news in this case. Peter is doing well and actually feeling pretty well still. His blood counts are on the way down and will probably bottom out over the weekend. If the counts get too low, a trip to the cities for a transfusion could be necessary, but hopefully not.

The big Dodgeball Tournament/Benefit took place this past Saturday and what a time it was. I really didn’t know what to expect from the day, other than a good time. So when I entered the dodgeball facility and saw so many players — mainly tall, strong and 8-10 years younger than my team — my expectations also included adrenaline bursts and some pain.

The competition was fierce, friendly and deep. Everything was beyond expectations and I’m happy to report that my muscles are no longer sore, but I had a noticeable gimp on Sunday. Thank you to all participants, spectators and to those who donated. And a mega-thanks to Molly Zauhar for an incredible job putting the day together.

  1. Good Morning Peter and family~
Yeah…. so happy to hear that you are recovering well! Your strength and determination are truly admirable! We continue to pray for you as you battle your way through the rest of your treatments. My, how far you have come! We miss you soooo much, Peter…. and Ellie…. and Kate….. one day soon, I hope to have you back here with the rest of us!
Emily, Lily & Parker’s Auntie Tara is at a hospital in the cities right now, too. She got to fly in a helicopter to Abbot Northwestern hospital yesterday (Wednesday) because the little baby girl in her tummy wants to come out already and she isn’t supposed to come out for 10 more weeks!! Auntie Tara has to stay in that hospital for atleast 4 weeks! She can’t even get out of bed…. I think your hospital sounds like it is much more fun!! 🙂 So, now when we pray for Peter at night, we also pray for Auntie Tara and her baby! Maybe you could send her a prayer, too…. and some of your strength and bravery!!
Thinking of you often and looking forward to seeing you soon!
    Love~

  7. Hi Peter,

Uncle Tom and I have been down in Sarasota, Florida for the last 2 weeks enjoying the warmer weather, but we have to come back home on Wednesday, the 7th. We were hoping to see Grandpa and Grandma Poopster this next Tuesday before we leave, but I guess it isn’t going to work out. We saw some alligators and manatees the other day. The alligators are ugly and the manatee’s are really HUGE!! We think about you everyday and still saying our prayers for you . Hope to see you when we get home, maybe at a Warriors hockey game, if not at home.
All our Love, Tom and Judy
