Mr. and Mrs. Eigner

If you haven’t had a chance to talk with Ty or Erika, you may be wondering how they’re holding up. If you have talked with them, you’re probably as amazed as I am at their strength and attitude. They are being parents in the most phenomenal sense of the word.

Every visitor and well-wish helps Peter. But when it comes down to it, Mom and Dad are the two people from whom Peter will take guidance and draw strength. And they are providing both masterfully.

  2. Dear Peter and Family,

Peter, we heard you were feeling sick. We are very sad to hear that. We all know that it is no fun being sick. Are you sick of being in bed? Don’t worry we know you will be back on your feet in no time. We heard even when you are sick you are still the best hockey player around! You just keep getting better and you will be back on the ice in no time. Hang in there and keep smiling. Plus, chicks dig scars!
We’re sending you all our thoughts and prayers.
    Love,
    Heath, Stacy, & Palmer

  4. Erika, Ty and Peter…

I just heard today about what has been going on with Peter. My thoughts and all of my prayers are directed towards you and your family.

I know that Peter will be in good health in no time and will be running and playing along with all of the other kids.

I can only imagine what you must be going through, but as the words on the website say, “your love and strength will bring you through this.”

I am here for you for whatever you may need.

    We love you all,
    Amy, Mike and Maddie

  5. Hi Peter!
Do you want to hear something funny? Jake and Alexa have been calling you Peter Pan! Isn’t that silly? They love Peter Pan, but they don’t like Captain Hook. They think he’s mean. Do you like Captain Hook? Do you know that Peter Pan can fly? Can you fly too? Wouldn’t that be fun?!
Jake and Alexa pray to God and Jesus everynight asking them to help their friend, Peter Pan (heehee!), to get better so he can come over to their house and swim!
One time Jake was sick in the hospital too. But now he’s better and back at home, just like you’re going to be!
We love you lots and we’re going to come and visit you soon. Jake wants to go to Target and pick out a fun toy for you.
    Lots of hugs to you!
    Your friends,
    Tank, Stacy, Jake and Alexa

  6. Good morning Peter. I know you have another big day ahead of you. You have been so brave and we are so proud of you. How do you like your room? I bet it is filling up with lots of balloons! Give your mom and dad a smile and kisses for us. We will see you soon. Love Jayne, Gary and Abbey.

  8. Erika,

Hi this is Heather at the MMBA. I’m so sorry to hear about what your little guy is going through. My thoughts are with all of you. This really hits home for me, with two of my boys being close to Peter’s age. I don’t know where you’re getting your strength from, but I guess you just have to for Peter, don’t you.

    Hi Peter,

You probably don’t remember me, but I met you one time when you were with your mommy. You are such a brave little boy, and so strong! You just keep getting better, and soon you’ll get to go home and do all the fun stuff you love doing. Did you play baseball this summer too? My little boys are 4 years old, and 5 years old, and they got to play t-ball, and they had SO much fun!! Their names are Logan & Austin. I bet you were soooo good at it!! Take care kiddo.

  9. Hi Peter. I just want you to know that you were put on the earth to be something special. A person only has to meet you one time to see that you have already gone from being an ordinary human being to an extra-ordinary young man. Words cannot describe how much everyone @ Minnesota Hockey Camps feels about you. We have people emailing and calling every day. You have learned to stare down adversity @ a young age. I’m thinking of you every waking moment and looking forward to the day you walk in to this office again. Your friend -ole gringo-

  10. Peter, Erika, Ty – Peter, this is your Mom’ cousin Wendy. I am so old that I used to be your mom’s babysitter sometimes! I remember when she was a little baby running around in her diaper!

I am thinking about you and your Mom and Dad and am hoping that you are feeling a little better today. I work very close to the hospital so if you need a new visitor, please let me know when I can come to visit.

Maybe we will see each other soon!

    Your cousin too – Wendy

  11. Hang in there little buddie. I will try and hold the air hockey game and a few quarters till you get home. You are a special young boy and someone who always keeps Minnesota Hockey Camps up beat and fun. See you shortly.

    Dino

  12. Hi Peter, and family,

  15. Hi Little Buddy Peter,
I am praying for you to get well and to get your tummy to not hurt any more. You will have to get well and come into my work and get suckers from me, that will make you feel better.
Take care little buddy and we will see you soon.

    Ty and Erika,
I am praying for all of you and thinking of you all the time. Please be sure to let me know if I can do any thing for you.

  16. Thank you, Uncle Matt for keeping us updated on Peter, Ty and Erika. Thank you for your time, energy and thoughtfulness… Hang in there.

  17. Hi Peter,

This is Heidi from the bank and Sam’s mom (you had swimming lessons w/ Sam at the YMCA). You sure are a good swimmer…and jumping in the pool was nothing for a big boy like you! When Sam says his prayers at night we say one for you and your family! We hope you start feeling better real soon.

    Love,

    The Hagen Family

  18. Coach Ty, Erika, Peter, and the rest of your family,

Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all. It is a very strong thing to have so many people praying for you. Keep the faith and stay strong. Don’t be afraid to ask for help … we are all here for you …just ask!

Peter, we are all waiting for you to be at hockey games to cheer everyone on. Get well soon.

    Ty and Erika,
My sister, Jean Baruch, started a non-profit organization called Beads of Courage for children coping with cancer. Children Hospital has the program. It is a very cool thing for kids. If you want to know more about it her web site is http://www.beadsofcourage.net. I would very much like to sponsor Peter if the hospital he is at doesn’t have the program. Let me know if it something you think you and Peter would like.
    Thniking of you , Pam

  19. Erika and Ty,

Hope the news continues to be positive as the tests progress.

Although these are very difficult days for you, I do believe Peter is in an excellent hospital and will get the best of care.

You should never feel alone because you are surrounded by people who love you and are praying for a positive outcome.

Good luck, Peter – don’t get too addicted to strawberry jello. Hockey players need to eat more “manly” foods!

    Matt,

The website is outstanding. Thanks so much for creating it!

    Jan Marko

  20. Erika, Ty, Peter,
We’ve been saying multiple blessings for you each night, that God helps your tummy feel better, and that he takes that cancer and sends it far far away. How does anyone expect an active guy to sit still for so long? We also pray for your doctors who do the extra special work they do. We’re proud of how strong we know you are being.
    The Ice Family

  21. Ty and Erica – Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I can’t imagine the pain and worry that you are feeling, but only hope that you will feel God’s love and strength when you need it the most – so that you can help Peter to feel it too.
