Ready for Turkey Day

As Thanksgiving Day approaches, Peter has gained strength and energy. I think it’s safe to say that he has recovered and is ready for round 5 of chemo to start on Monday.

Have a happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Ty and Erica,
Wishing you and your family the best Thanksgiving day ever – you have so much to be thankful for! It seems like your journey has reminded us all that we have so much to be thankful for – I know that I sure think about things differently than I did a few short months ago!

Peter – I’m so glad you are feeling better and your body is getting strong and ready for the next round. Eat extra lots with all that great Thanksgiving food over the next few days to store up lots of energy, ok? (hey, I’ll bet that right now is a pretty good time to ask for that extra whipping cream on your dessert….shhhhh, don’t tell your mom I said that!) 🙂

Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday!
The Swansons (Cary, Lori, Luke, Brooke and Erica)

  2. Happy Thanksgiving Eigners,
We’ll be thinking of you….Peter, eat LOTS.

Peter- I knew you could do it. I knew you’d pull through and win this round, too! What does that make the official score now?? Peter and Captain Chemo -4 and the “path thing” – 0 ?!?!?!?!!? Uh-huh…. hasta la vista, “path thing”!!!! Are you a turkey fan?? If you are, I hope you eat till your little tummy’s content today! I think you should be allowed to have as many pieces of dessert as you want, too!! 🙂

*There is a commercial on TV right now that gets played alot and every time I see it, I think of you. It features a lady who has survived ovarian cancer and she keeps talking about all the “beautiful” things about cancer. She says that “all the friends (or mommy’s and daddy’s or Uncle Matt’s or Auntie G’s) who sleep in chairs (or cots!) next to your bed at night “ARE BEAUTIFUL”. She says that the doctors who make jokes and make you laugh in the chemo room, “ARE BEAUTIFUL”. She says that “cancer can be ugly, but the people who battle it are far from ugly… they ARE BEAUTIFUL!” … and then she says, “Oh, yah. and bald is BEAUTIFUL too!” Peter – just want you to know that I think you are the the most “BEAUTIFUL” person on the face of this earth. Keep fighting, buddy! The knock-out round is getting closer!! We love you and will pray very hard for you today…. and we are full of smiles and anticipation for Sunday… we can’t wait to see you!!
Many blessings to the Eigners, the Hansons and all of Peter’s fellow team mates –
    Love,

  12. Good morning Peter John,
Peter Robert and his family send you health and strength. You are a great kid, and I hope to be able to match your skills at Rock, Paper, Scissors and thumb war someday. We were so lucky to have a fun, kind and cool roommate. The next one was okay, but he just was no Peter Eigner! Hope you are playing outside and chasing your sweet sisters around. Good luck next week and God bless.
