Battling on Home Turf

Peter is doing great at home. The nurses were in today, as they are twice each week, to test his blood. Their blood count results will be back this afternoon. The counts should be dropping as a result of the chemo and then bounce back as Peter gets back on offense.

Erika and Peter will be returning to the hospital on Wednesday for a stem cell harvest “work up”. I believe this session with the doctors is largely informative, but may also involve some basic tests. The actual harvest is scheduled for next week; I’ll get more specific on that procedure soon, but it isn’t as dramatic as the name indicates.

I’ll also get some new photos up on the site shortly. Peter looks amazingly handsome with blonde peach fuzz atop his head.

  1. Peter-
It makes me so incredibly happy to read that you continue to do so well… you are truly a champion in every imaginable sense of the word! You make me proud to know you, buddy! I think when God made you, He was showing off!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Today we pray that your ability to remain healthy and upbeat continues. It’s incredibly heartwarming to read all the positive posts that your uncle Matt writes about you. I hope you realize how amazingly much you are loved. If you don’t now, you will someday – that I promise.
We pray, too, that your harvest procedure goes well. Because you are so strong and brave and courageous, I have no doubts that for you, it will be a breeze… just one more neccessary step in the race to win the “path thing.” Again, Peter – you amaze me.
We are excitred to see some current photos of you…. I am looking forward to seeing how handsome you must look now that your hair has disappeared! (However, I have a hard time imagining you any cuter than you have always been!!!!)
Keep that positive attitude alive, sweet boy! You bring out the best in all of us!
    Your forever friend –
    Jenni

  2. Hey Peter, How about those Twins?? Play-off bound!!! It was fun to see them celebrating their victory. They look pretty darn excited. Now on to the division title. They must have listened to the advice you gave them Fri night when we were watching the game.

Let me know if you want me to make some more beef stew. I can have it ready for you on Wed and you can take it back to Brainerd.

I hope you enjoyed this beautiful day. Sleep tight little buddy.

    Love ya Gramma Mary
