Scan Results and Surgery Update

Peter was back at the U of M yesterday to get the complete CT scans. The results came back this morning and they don’t see any changes from his previous clear scans. YES! This scan also included his head.

The surgery has in fact been moved up to August 3rd with the pre-surgery meetings on the 2nd. They assume there won’t be any antibody treatments that week. That treatment schedule will be re-evaluated after surgery. Blood was drawn this week and sent to NYC to test for HAMA (whether Peter has developed his own antibodies to the antibody).

With another surgery looming, I’m reminded of the first two surgeries and the known risks of working so closely to major arteries, etc. I hope that this one isn’t as risky since there isn’t a large tumor to extract. And I certainly hope it is merely scar tissue where the “path thing” used to live.

  1. Oh, What great news on your tests so far. Hope the results are just as good in NY. Surgery probably isnt that easy for you Peter but it will help the Drs. know what treatment to give you so you get better that much faster.
Uncle Chuck said you are doing so well and enjoyed watching you play your baseball game too. You are an amazing guy and inspire all of us.
We think of all of you all the time and praying for good results for you in NYC.
The angels are always there watching over you. Keep smiling and your great attitude.

It’s like the “good ‘ol days!” You are such a smart little guy… everything I tell you – you’re like “yah, I already knew all that…” Smarty pants! 🙂 Anyway – just wanted to tell ya in writing how proud I am of you…. we’ll see you & your sister’s in the morning!

  5. Hi Eigner Family,

Just wanted to let you know I prayed for you in church tonight.
I think it is a very encouraging sign that the area in question did not light up on MIBG. You are in wonderful hands at Sloan–We owe the team of Doc’s there our son’s life. And truly Dr Laquaglia as well–I imagine he is the one doing Pete’s surgery–That man saved Daniel’s life with his gifted hands.
So glad to read your updates and we will keep checking in on ya’ll
and praying for continued good news!
    God Bless!
