The Eigner Triage Unit

Peter is doing pretty well coming out of round four. He hasn’t been too sick, but he’s had some of the expected symptoms: a sore in his mouth, limited energy, less appetite, and some digestive problems. However, he’s drinking enough fluids and staying hydrated.

Both sisters, Ellie and Kate, got sick after the flu shots. They’ve had the stomach flu bug that doesn’t last more than a day or two, but creates a very long 24-48 hours and leaves you without energy. They’re both coming out of their sickness, but, thankfully, Peter hasn’t caught it yet (it’s OK to rap on your wooden desk). Although I suppose it’s possible that the flu shots caused the sickness, both my wife (Auntie G) and my mom (G’ma Barb) had the same sickness this week, but didn’t have contact with the girls. It’s strange how those bugs travel.

Peter’s counts are predictably low and should continue to go down over the next couple days. I think he can count on getting a transfusion for platelets and hemoglobin early next week. I could have said that he’s getting a “blood transfusion”, but I like to use bigger words when I get the chance.

Have a good weekend, all.

  1. Hey gang, I miss you guys already and I just got back a few hours ago. I had fun hanging out with you even if Kate and Ellie both took their turn at throwing up on me. Thanks Pete for sparing me any of your upset tummy products.

Peter, I think I’m getting closer to beating you in hockey. At least I scored 8 goals this time and two of those were scored while I was holding on to Kate. Those should have counted for two goals.

Have a good week-end and the next time you see Kyle and his Mom tell them that the meal was great. Especially the warm apple pie with the whip cream on it. Of course you and Ellie wouldn’t know how good the apple pie was because you just ate whip cream. Silly kids!

I’ve got a package here from Tom Preissing. He sent it all the way from Ottawa, Canada. Do you think the stuff inside is for me or do you think it’s for you. Maybe I should open it up and see——-just kidding, I’ll let you open it.

Love to all of you Gramma Mary

  3. Oh, no, not the stomach flu! 🙁 That is one sickness that is not fun to clean up after! I hope it manages to stear clear of you, Pete-Man! We hope you all have a great weekend – looks sunny out there right now, but I imagine if I were to step outside it would be very C-O-L-D! I am taking the kids into Sears today for their Christmas photo and then Monga is taking them to see the movie Santa Clause 3 tomorrow at the theater. Does it sound like Christmas is coming, or what? Peter – you’ll have to let me know it there is anything special that you would like for Christmas this year, ok.
Keep drinking lots of fluids and keep practicing at air hockey…. now that Emily has her own game, I think I might be able to beat you someday! (do ya think it’s possible, Gramma Mary?? 🙂 )
Thinking of you and loving you much-

  5. Hi Peter- Sam is asking how you were doing so we got on your site to see how things are going. Im glad that you haven’t had the flu – that shot in the I Spy room must be working. I got out too late on Sunday to get to go to the I Spy room to get my shot so I had to just do it in my room. We hope that you are teaching your sisters to play Dinosaur Bingo! Sarah, Zac, and Sam hope to be able to play it with you again. I will be going in for my next round on the Monday after Thanksgiving – is that when you’ll be in next? Well, I hope your transfusion goes well. I did love your song that you left for me on my site! Thanks!!

    You make a good Hulk!
I hope you are feeling better, round 4 sounded tough. Gather up all your Eigner courae now and keep on battling the “forces of evil” as Sam would say.

The kids started hockey this weekend. Wondering if you could make it to one of Henry’s games on a weekend?

God Bless, take care of your mom and dad Big Pete.

Love you! Jake Becky Henry Emma Sam Zach
