NYC Results

We just finished getting all of Peter’s test and scan results back from New York. Brain MRI-CLEAR, Head/Chest/Abdomen CT-CLEAR, Bone Marrow-CLEAR, Urine Screen-CLEAR, MIBG Scan-CLEAR!!! We also found out that his HAMA level came way down, so he could be getting another round of anti-body treatment before we are due back for scans and tests in April. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers, you will never know how much strength they provide us as we wait for test results. With that said, the trip to NYC had to be a succes right. All in All it was a pretty quick and smooth trip. The highlight for Peter was learning to play ping-pong in the playroom. He and I played everyday and he really started to hit the ball pretty well. Especially since he could not bend his arm all the way due to his temp IV line. He got to paint a jewelry box for Kate and Ellie, which has since been destroyed by Kate! He also made individual soap figures for Erika and he girls, they really liked that.

I also have to share one neat story from out there. Peter and I were in the playroom by ourselves on Monday morning, when a woman and a 5 year old girl came in. They sat at the table with us while we were playing a game. After talking with them for a while we found out that the girl’s little brother was being treated for Neuroblastoma. Her grandma then asked me if “Peter had a sibling that was being treated out here?” She was very surprised when I told here “Peter is the one who has Neuroblastoma.” Peter then said “I HAD Neuroblastoma Dad.” I don’t know who felt better about what he said me or the gramma who could see that there can be a positive outcome to this awful disease!

Anyway, I thought that was a pretty cool thing and thought you all would enjoy it. Well better get going, we have a busy Saturday ahead of us.

Thanks for everything,

Ty

First of all ~ “Whoo-hoo!!” on those test results! I am soooo happy for you! CLEAR all the way around ~ what more could a ping-pong champ need??!!!

Second of all ~ I am giggling as I think about Miss Kate-Kate destroying the jewelry box! Oh, how I miss that little Zamboni! 🙂

Great story you shared about your visit with the 5 year old girl & her Grandmother…. what more inspiration could they need than seeing bright eyed, beautiful Peter standing before them? …..

Hugs and kisses to Miss Ellie, too! Ellie ~ we have a new little girl at daycare now. She will be 5 in just a few days …. and she loves to play dollies and dress-up like you did! I tell her that she would have liked playing with you! Maybe someday you can come visit for an afternoon so the two of you can play! Guess what her name is? Lilly!

    With happiness and continued prayers~

  4. That is a wonderful report for Peter and in turn it provides hope for the grandmother–who no doubt gave it to the parents of that little boy. A pebble into the pond sends ripples out and this has to be just like that. Take care!

  5. Wonderful News !!! Way to go Peter. That grandmother you spoke with had to have so much hope after your conversation. What a great thing for you to be able to relay as I am sure others did for you also.
Hope you hockey season is going well sounds like it with 13 3 record so far. Nicks AA team isnt doing so well this year, they are playing hard but always come up a point short. They have had a lot of good competition and hopefully can end the season with several wins.
You all take care and thanks for the good news update.

  8. I am so glad to read your good news! YOU all deserve a big pat on the back. Peter is so right — the perspective that neuroblastoma is history was amazing. After all that has gone before, no moutain can be too high to climb.
Take care. Love, hugs and squishes to all the Eigners — even the jewelry box destroying Kate.

  9. Dear Erika, Ty, Peter, Eleanor and Katherine Eigner,

Good morning and thank you Ty for sharing the good news and stories from New York. And, thank you Peter for being the super-action-hero that you are. I envision Peter adorned with a cape while slaying ailments that harm boys and girls all over the world. We have, Super Peter!

I miss seeing you all and I hope you are doing well,

Ty and Erika, thank you for being heroes too. I’m not sure if you should wear capes, but surely you both give me (and others) so much inspiration.

Please be safe and thanks for keeping us informed to these miracles.

    All the best,

    Sincerely, Terry and Rebecca

  13. Nice to see you and your sisters @ the rink on Thursday, Peter. I will bet you that Nick Leddy never thought twice about playing the game today, after being injured on Thursday. All he had to do was get to know Peter Eigner and he had no choice. Fun to see that smiling face of your, Peter. Keep smiling. We are smiling when we see you @ the rink.
